Massimo Brizzi
Archaeologist
Massimo Brizzi is an archaeologist who has worked since 1985 in the cultural heritage professionspecialising in classical archaeology. Employed by many of the Italian Archaeological Departmentsfor excavations, cataloguing, topographical works, ground survey projects, and site managementactivities, he has been involved in many international archaeological projects in Iraq, Turkmenistan,Russia, Jordan, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya.He has worked with several academic organizations including running degree modules for theFaculty of Architecture of the University of Reggio Calabria (Italy), and delivering lectures theUniversité Libanaise of Tripoli (Lebanon) and for MA programmes of the Department of Classics andAncient History of the University of Durham. Since 2021 he is Research Associate in theDepartment of Archaeology of the Durham University for the project ‘Partnership for Heritage’studying and documenting the tangible and intangible heritage of the Amazigh culture in the regionsof Tataouine (Tunisia) and Jebel Nafusa (Libya).
